Our Trip to CO

After months of anticipation, our big trip to see the family in Colorado finally arrived. This was Elsa's biggest flight ever (2.5 hrs, nonstop) and we had an assortment of toys and distractions to keep her happy. Ma and Pa Engberg safely delivered us to the airport and off we went. Elsa had been eagerly anticipating this trip because it meant PLAY TIME WITH COUSINS!!!

Within hours after our arrival from sea level, Jason convinced me to race in the "low key local short track race" affectionally known as the Wednesday Night Worlds. I thought, hey it's short track, how serious can they take it. When I walked out in the garage in my tshirt, shorts and bmx flats, Jason rolled his eyes and said "you're going to race in that?" So we show up, race B's and I finish DFL. Just like CX. Must be a pattern. Oh well, it was fun and I got to hug Elsa at the end.

We spent the rest of the week either: a) chasing after Jason on a mountain bike at 9000 ft, b) hanging out on the kitchen floor playing with the cabinets,

c) going to Grandma Beth's for dinner or d) playing "take two" after doing shots of tequila. "Take two" was slightly less competitive than the Wednesday Night Worlds, though there was a lot of trash talk and Alison always won.

We also hooked up with the Swaim clan down in Arvada (sounds like Nevada) for a nice brunch and a major gossip session. I hope they sell their house soon. That sounds like a major stressor.

And last but not least, Grandma Beth got to catch up with her latest grandchild. We all had a really great time together.
