New Moves for '08

With my quickly approaching 40th birthday (in 8 days), I have been assessing my general state of affairs. Other than Elsa/Catherine/Jack, one reoccuring thought in my head is racing bikes. For as much as I love it, I am not that great at it. I am a smooth rider, but that does not win you races. At least the short, fast ones. One thing I have in my favor is that your endurance supposedly goes up as you get older. If that is the case, maybe I should race longer events, right?

Thus, the new moves for '08 will be 8 hr races. Eight in '08. My first one is a solo effort on the single speed (Boggs III), followed by a 2 man team effort in May at Laguna Seca (24 hrs of Adrenalin). The trouble is, when am I going to find time to train for an 8 hr race??? Ideally I could build up for the Tahoe Sierra 100 in September, but that might be a tad ambitious. We shall have to see how the first two go.

Still got time to roll the one speeds at China Camp? Mine is almost finished.
I want in on some of those 5+hr training days you undoubtedly have in front of you. Also, put me down for pit crew at any/all of the Norcal events.

Sweet, I did not know you were building one up. Yes, I always have time for some good rides. As for Norcal HS MTB, once the schedule gets finalized I will keep you and DK in the loop. It would be great to see you guys at the races.

I have thought about building up a single speed...luckily, I come to my senses before I spend any money.

You should build up your jumping bike as a SS. Or is that project on hold until Nolan is around 6 or 7?

Is there anyway the Justin and me can each be 1/4 of your two man team?

That could be problematic. However, y'all could set up your own 2 man team...
