Liquefaction in the News
I never thought that I would see earthquake engineering within the lead stories for Yahoo News http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20070222/sc_livescience/livebacteriacouldreduceearthquakedamage. It probably has to do with the interesting use of bacteria to seal off the pore spaces between the soil grains. Cool concept but tough to sell to a client.

24 Hr Solo
The much hyped movie "24 Hour Solo" looks to be coming out in April. I hope it is better than All Out Grease, which could have been named All Out Boring. The new movie follows uber-fit Chris Eatough through a year of training for the 24 hr World Championship. These guys are pain mavens. Check out the trailer http://www.24-solo.com/trailer/wmmed.htm and look at the riders faces. Some look a bit too skinny and should have a Sierra Nevada every once in awhile.

Rainy Saturday
It is finally dumping rain. Tahoe is getting hammered
by deep, wet snow. The kind of day where Jack
lays around all day long.
I kinda did the same thing, but a took a
few photos of the new home decor.
We have a new Queen bed,
Jack got a new bed too,
and we have a new couch and fish tank.
The KTown house is shaping up.

CX Worlds

The US finally came through big in on the World's Stage. Three silvers and lots of time up front. Maybe the Euros are not doping as much, or maybe they are sharing now. Katie Compton looks happy, but not as happy as the Frenchies beside her.
